Robert Haas is the Program Services and Security Director for the Williamsburg Regional Library. He has over 25 years of “frontline” customer service experience in both the public and private sectors. Rob joined the Williamsburg Regional Library in 1998, and has spent his time in the library system to continually focus on raising the library user experience, while always striving to manage a safe venue that provides high quality programing and services to the community.
In 2013, Rob took over as Director, and in 2014, his responsibility increased to include management of three library facilities including two gallery spaces, theatre, and nine meeting/conference rooms. In FY 19, the library hosted over 116,000 quests attending 4,500 meetings/concerts/lectures/receptions/trainings/town halls.
Prior to the Williamsburg Regional Library, Rob was a U.S. Naval Officer and Archaeologist. He has held various positions on historical boards within Eastern Virginia. He holds a B.S. in Anthropology from University of Utah.
