April N. Bingham, MPA is the Deputy Director for Customer Service. Mrs. Bingham joined the Department of Public Utilities in February 2020 and demonstrates qualities of servant leadership. As Deputy Director, she is responsible for management of the call center, billing, revenue recovery and gas & field operations. Mrs. Bingham holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Phoenix. Her career spans more than 20 years in the utility industry and includes an extensive background in both gas and water.
Mrs. Bingham worked for two major utility companies in the Washington, DC area before joining the Department of Public Utilities, (i.e. Washington Gas and DC Water) where she held senior level management roles within their customer service divisions. She is a dedicated professional with a strong focus on change management, meter-to-cash processing, AMI/AMI implementation, vendor contract management, SLA performance monitoring, advanced qualitative/quantitative research skills, strategy development and project management. Ms. Bingham understands the challenges that often impact a utilities’ desire to deliver quality customer service to its ratepayers and looks forward to serving on the front line within DPU to enhance the overall experience. |
