Matthew P. Stanley, CAE currently serves Richmond Public Schools, in Richmond, Virginia, as the Director of Advocacy and Outreach in the Office of Engagement, leading the school division’s government advocacy efforts and community outreach strategies. In 2020, Matthew was named one of Richmond’s Top 40 under 40 in Style Weekly, the region’s weekly culture and arts periodical.
Matthew was previously a partner at AEGIS Associates, LLC, a state government relations and association management firm in Richmond, Virginia. Within a portfolio of non-profit and corporate clients in the healthcare and educator sectors, he served as the Associate Executive Director of the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Education Facilities (VAISEF) and the Virginia Coalition of Private Provider Associations (VCOPPA). Matthew is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and previously served on the Virginia Society of Association Executives’ Board of Directors. Within the Richmond, Virginia community, he has been an active leader, having served on several Boards and Commissions including service as President of the Fan District Association, Treasurer of the Monroe Park Conservancy, and Chair of the City Council Compensation Review Advisory Committee. Matthew graduated with dual degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University in International Studies and French Language. In addition to his studies at VCU, he studied at Sciences Po Aix, also known as Institut d'Études Politiques in Aix-en-Provence, France. |
